Here is a game that I loved watching let’s plays of all the time. The name of this game is Five Nights at Freddy’s also known as FNAF. This game is what got me into watching videos of Youtubers do let’s plays of video games. I stared watching a Youtuber named Markiplier’s videos on this game which got me to watch his other videos which got me interested in watching videos like them.
From there I became very interested in all the kinds of different and cool video games out there and began watching different channels the had videos of let’s plays. Eventually seeing all these games make me want to create a game that people would enjoy playing and that would look as good as the ones they were playing.

The game itself is an indie game designed by Scott Cawthon, it is the first part of a series of 7 games related to the FNAF universe. This game has inspired a lot of fan games using either similar game mechanics or the characters from the game. It inspired people how had never made games before to make a fan game for it. The FNAF games also had a lot of Easter eggs and hidden pieces of lore in them. They were hard to find and sometimes relied on rare chance for you to discover.
One example is from the first FNAF game where there was a rare chance that a character named Golden Freddy would show up and kill you. Due to these hidden bits of lore there were many theorists that began to create different theories about things like the timeline throughout all the games and who the characters in the games were.
Two of the biggest characters people wanted to know the identities of were Golden Freddy and a character know as Purple Guy. The Purple Guy was the character that was responsible for the main characters of the game, a bunch of haunted animatronics, being possessed by the kids he killed. The mysteries about this games lore, the fact that it inspired some many people to make fan games, and that it was what help lead me to want to become a game designer is why Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of my favorite games and is important to me.
